The life history of coccidia

The development of coccidia is mainly divided into three reproductive stages: sporogeny (asexual), schizogony (sexual) and gametogenesis.

2nd stage: 5-7 days, the second generation merozoites differentiate into large and small gametophytes and form zygotes, which grow into oocysts and are excreted from the body.
3rd stage: Under suitable conditions, the oocysts undergo sporulation and become infectious, leading to the next round of infection.

1.    Loss of appetite; malabsorption of nutrients and poor pigmentation.

2.    Slow growth; anemia and weight loss.

5.    Secondary infection with other diseases.

The difference between different coccidia

The seven species of coccidia are ranked in order of pathogenicity: Eimeria tenella > Mayerella > Eimeria brucei > Eimeria giantis > Eimeria aeruginosa > Mitigating Eimeria > Eimeria precoccus.

 

These seven species of coccidia are ordered by the size of the chicken flock, which is Eimeria tenella > Eimeria aeruginosa > Eimeria giantis > Mayerella
